STATE SCHOOL PROGRAMME
We understand that sending your child to a school abroad is a big decision. Having a guardian lets you know that there is always someone to give a helping hand and to look after your child. We, therefore, know that it is imperative for you and your child to know that will be in good hands before, during and after the stay. Hence why, having a guardian whilst your child is away puts your mind at ease and they feel safe and confident abroad. The guardian remains responsible for the child throughout the stay in the UK and will be in constant touch with both, you and your child. The guardian will also inform you regularly of your child’s progress.
The school year is divided into three terms:
- Autumn: September - December
- Spring: January - March
- Summer: April - July
Schools participating in this programme are selected very carefully on their record of academic achievement and for their enthusiasm in accepting students from other countries. These schools comment that they benefit as much from the cultural exchange as the foreign students themselves.
Great care is taken to regulate the number of students of any one nationality within the same school to ensure maximum integration and to encourage the use of English at all times. Schools are generally located in small communities and not in large cities.
Students live with a carefully selected host family within easy reach of the school and their Local Coordinator is available by telephone and email. We encourage students to become fully involved in the social life of the local community.
