Bournemouth is located on the south coast of England and enjoys a mild climate. It has become one of the most popular resorts in Britain, gaining reputation as the entertainment capital of southern England. The town, founded in 1800, has gradually grown into a full-scale resort town characterised by its cosmopolitan atmosphere, wide, tree-lined boulevards, Victorian architecture, long and clean sandy beach, beautiful gardens and busy shops.

The Programme

The programme combines a General English course of 15 hours per week (9 am to 12 pm Monday to Friday), during which students improve their written and oral communicative skills and learn vocabulary, with 15 hours per week (2 pm to 5 pm) of cultural activities. The English course features project work and lessons specifically designed to prepare students for their day trips. This encourages them to put learning into practice in real life situations. We provide a package of high-quality teaching at all levels and a full programme of sports, cultural activities and excursions. This enables students to build up knowledge and confidence in international atmosphere. Our team has been carefully selected for their responsible, caring attitude, for being fun-loving and outgoing.

You can book this course as an individual or as a group (maximum 5 students).

All courses follow the European Framework of Reference from A2 (Lower Intermediate) to C1 (Advanced). Teaching materials and end-of-course certificate are provided.

Typical Day

There will be a maximum of 5 students per group + 1 English teacher. Each student will travel to the teacher’s house where classes will be held daily during their stay. Once classes have finished, students have a break for lunch with the teacher and then move on to the afternoon activities until 5.00 pm. Students then go home to their host family and spend the evening with them to continue with their English Language Immersion. At the weekend, there will be a full day trip to London, Oxford or Portsmouth, where students will be accompanied by tour guides from the travel company. Sunday is again family time so students can make the most of their short stay in the UK.

The lessons will be provided at the teacher's house Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm. There will be no more than 5 students per group. Generally, these students will have varying native languages and will be of similar age.

All our teachers are qualified, with either a TEFL qualification or a teaching qualification (PGCE Primary/PGCE Secondary for Modern Languages).

The teacher will be responsible for running the afternoon cultural visits or sport activities daily from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm, adapting the activities to the interests the students in the group share. There will be a full-day excursion per week, accompanied by a leader, immersing the students in the culture of the host country. On Sundays the students can have the day off with their family.

Host Families

Our families offer the best possible care, which enables students to make the most of their stay in the UK.  The hosts are interviewed by us and the accommodation is inspected to make sure they can provide the students with the best quality accommodation possible. We make sure that the family environment is safe and the domestic conditions are of very high standard. We also familiarize our hosts with the guidelines of the Children Act 1989 to ensure that the students are safe.

The host family will welcome the student into their home and provide a good family atmosphere. They will provide breakfast and a meal in the evening.
